Initial Costs
Green homes do not cost more to build. The basic fundamentals that make a green home are attainable on almost any budget and fit all designs and styles. We work closely with our clients to plan and design a home that fits their needs and budget, making sure they benefit from all the local, state and national incentives and tax credits. Although some research shows increased costs, NAHB’s estimates 3% to 5%, some estimate more, up to 10%, these cost are for simply 'greening' an existing design, not designing a green home.
Savings on Day-to-Day and Costs
The money saving attributes of living in a green home are well published, vastly reduced energy bills and more durable homes add up to huge savings. In addition, any investment in more costly systems such as solar photovoltaic and geothermal cooling, can be shown to have substantial long term savings.
Incentives, Rebates and Tax Credits
Green and LEED homes qualify for many homeowner incentives, rebates and tax credits, as well as (when available) reduced mortgage rates and lower insurance premiums.
Resale Values
National surveys show that green homes have an increased resale value compared to conventionally build homes.
